The Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU), Professor Ayodeji Olawunmi Badejo, FCASSON, FAPROCON, MNAE, has unveiled an eight-pillar strategic vision aimed at positioning the University as globally competitive, locally relevant and prepared for the future.
Professor Badejo presented the vision on Friday, 25 September 2026, while addressing the Committee of Provosts, Deans and Directors (COPDD) at the Senate Chamber.
She described COPDD as the Universityโs most strategic academic leadership committee after Senate and called on its members to champion the priorities within their respective units.

Under academic excellence and quality assurance, LASU will pursue full accreditation for all programmes. The University will also strengthen curriculum relevance, innovation and entrepreneurship so that its academic offerings respond to changing needs.
The research pillar places emphasis on solution-driven work with measurable benefits to society. It also calls for stronger international research partnerships and greater visibility for LASU in global university rankings.

The vision also includes the use of artificial intelligence and other digital tools to improve teaching and administration across LASUโs campuses. The consultations will bring the Universityโs academic and administrative units into the planning process. They will provide an opportunity to discuss how the strategic priorities apply across LASUโs campuses and areas of work.
